Flipped Information Literacy Classroom

Madeline Cohen, Head of Reference, Alison Lehner-Quam, Education Librarian, and Jennifer Poggiali, Instructional Technologies Librarian, all from Lehman College,  led an interactive discussion/workshop on flipped learning. The workshop explored benefits and challenges of bringing flipped classroom experiences into information literacy. Lesson development was then discussed and addressed. Participants worked on setting instructional goals, designing flipped homework activities, and developing engaging lessons for their own information literacy classes as part of the workshop. Cohen, Lehner-Quam, and Poggiali are conducting a multi-semester research project on the flipped classroom for information literacy classes in multiple subject areas, including business, education, and health sciences.
